PRESS STATEMENT
AAN NATIONAL PRESIDENT DISOWNS UNAUTHORISED RECRUITMENT ADVERTISEMENT PURPORTEDLY ISSUED ON BEHALF OF THE ASSOCIATION
I, Mrs Josephine Omolola, the National President and Head of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Albinism Association of Nigeria (AAN), hereby wish to inform the general public, members of the Association, development partners and prospective applicants that the purported advertisement for the position of Executive Director for the DRF Project, circulated using the Association’s name, logo and other official information, is NOT an authorised or official recruitment notice issued by the Albinism Association of Nigeria.
Consequently, the Association hereby disowns the said advertisement and advises all prospective applicants and members of the public to disregard it completely. Anyone responding to the advertisement does so without the authorisation, approval or endorsement of the Association.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Association has recently appointed an Executive Director through a process initiated by the National Executive Council (NEC), with the appointment subsequently confirmed by the Board of Trustees (BoT). The appointed Executive Director has already assumed office and commenced duties approximately one month ago.
In view of the foregoing, the purported advertisement for the same position is misleading and does not reflect any decision, directive or recruitment exercise approved by the recognised leadership of the Association.
Furthermore, the National President wishes to emphasise that all official recruitment advertisements and vacancy announcements issued on behalf of the Albinism Association of Nigeria (AAN) must be published exclusively through the Association’s official website: www.albinism.org.ng. No recruitment advertisement shall be considered authentic or authorised unless it is published on the Association’s official website. Advertisements circulated through unofficial flyers, posters, social media graphics or any other communication channels without formal approval and publication on the official website should be disregarded.
The National President therefore calls on whoever is responsible for publishing or circulating the said advertisement to withdraw it immediately and desist from further using the Association’s name, logo or official identity for any unauthorised purpose.
The general public, our members, development partners and other stakeholders are hereby advised to verify all recruitment announcements and official communications through the Association’s official website and recognised leadership.
We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation as we continue to uphold transparency, accountability and institutional integrity in the affairs of the Association.
SIGNED:
MRS JOSEPHINE OMOLOLA
National President
Albinism Association of Nigeria (AAN)
